Inicio Architecture and Design is a small RIBA Chartered Practice headed up by Michila Wilks ARB RIBA, providing a full range of architectural services in the South West.

Inicio in Latin means "at the beginning" it also has another meaning of "inspire", both have deep meaning for the creation of the practice by Michila. 

Michila has been involved with the design and construction industry since leaving school over 30 years ago, starting as a drawing office technician under an apprenticeship scheme. 

Michila had qualified as a Chartered Architectural Technician before going back to University. As a mature student Michila obtained her qualifications and became an ARB Registered Architect and an RIBA Chartered Architect in 2005. Michila furthered her studies post chartership with a Masters degree with Merit in Architectural Conservation.

As an Architect, Michila started her career in Local Government and worked on a range of public buildings and schools before joining private practice. In private practice, Michila progressed to Associate Architect for an award-winning private architectural practice, and more recently as Head of Architecture and Design for a large multi-disciplinary partnership.

These strategic moves to further enhance her career have given Michila a wide range of experience in many fields of architecture from large multi million pound schemes to small extensions for private clients and everything in between.

Alongside her passion for architecture and the built environment, Michila can often been seen trail running around the Quantocks, or cycling the Somerset levels, training for various endurance events.
